About This Project
THE CHALLENGE
A single-level beach house right on Birch Bay Drive, taking salt spray off the water on one side and full afternoon sun on the other. Waterfront paint jobs fail from the water side first, and this one was due — house, fence, and fascia together.
OUR APPROACH
Salt-exposed walls got a hard wash and Peel Bond primer before anything else. The body went on in Whirlpool — a soft ocean blue-gray that ties the house to the water it faces — with High Reflective White on the trim and the left fence, the brightest white Sherwin makes. The front fascia was repaired and finished with the trim. Shake texture, block wall, and all, the house now looks like it belongs to the bay.
